I’ve find and very interesting web: www.womansmedia.com
There are a lot of news about the gender gap and interesting comments about those news. For exemple this: “Last year, a labor economist from the Economic Policy Institute made the widely-quoted estimate that the gender pay gap would be closed within 30 years. Other commentators state confidently that the gap does not reflect discrimination, but other factors, such as the high wages of a few white men, and gendered patterns of occupational and educational choice and work experience. The effect of such assertions is to make women feel complacent about the wage gap—and perhaps to feel that they can avoid its impact by making the right educational, occupational, and negotiation-related choices. Such complacency is unwarranted.” Besides they explain about other topics as the wage gap exists within racial or ethnic groups.
Also I’ve find some information very significant as women working 41 to 44 hours for week earn 84.6% of what men working similar hours earn; women working more than 60 hours for week earn only 78.3% of what men in the same time category earn Furthermore, women may work longer to receive the promotions that provide access to higher pay. This information is from a Bureau of Labor Statistics.

1. My friends have drawn women for a nurse and a kindergarten teacher, and men for a truck driver and a doctor.
2.There are some jobs which are traditionally for men in my country such as firefighters, builders, bullfighters, miners, etc. And there are some jobs which are tradicionally for women such as nurses, baby sitters, cleaners, secretaries, etc.
3.When we speak about gender gap in earnings, we are referring to differences in the outcomes that men and women achieve in the labor market. But nowadays it tends to decrease. In fact, it doesn’t exist in public administration. The salary is the same for men and women.
In my country, there are a lot of women who work as policewomen, and a lot of men who work as cleaners.

Which jobs are traditionally for men and which are for women? There are some jobs for men and for women. Tradicionally women do jobs related with familly care, kindergarten and housework while men do jobs such as a truck driver, a doctor or jobs not related with family care.
Is this situation changing now? Luckily this situation is changing because you can see a woman driving a bus but the discrimination it's real because there are a few women in charge of big companies.

Looking for on internet I have found a very interesting article of Newsweek magazine. I attach the web adress
http://www.newsweek.com/2010/03/08/what ... r-gap.html

In this article there is an example of gender gap: young MBA graduates make some $4,600 less than their male counterparts.
