In my country

In my country there are jobs that traditionally have been done for women, like hairdresser, nurse, cleaner, shop assistant in women’s shops, etc. and another one that men usually do, like builder, welder, mechanic, carpenter, etc. We have now new equality employment policies which give incentives to the firms to contract women in works that they have low representations, and now, we can see how women go occupying jobs normally occupied by men.

In www.ateneonaider.com we can find that the last document published by the World Economic Forum “Gender Gap Report 2010” said that the biggest world firms aren’t complying with the equality policies.

I have found a web of a little familiar firm of electrodomestics repairing which has had the initiative of to make use of a new employ women’s plan in Asturias. One anecdote is that in the beginning when a woman answered a client call, the client asked for a man to explain his technical problem, but now, gradually, they are getting used to talk to women to resolve theirs problems.
