My name is Neus; It's a catalan name but not very common. I live in Llavaneres and the most common surnames are Graupera, Sala, Vives, Passi, Tapies..... My family name is Coll and doesn't tell anything about us. Once I read that Coll meant the passage between two hills, but I never was sure that It was true!! The village where I live is still so little and there isn't lot of immigration yet. In my country, when we meet someone for the first time we use the surname with the title (Mr./Mrs.) before; but when is a friend who introduces someone, usually we use the name.
