Popular names in my country

Hello, I’m Valentin Popescu and I’m from Romania.
One of the most common names from Romania is Popescu. I think is the second most popular name after Ionescu. It is a long story about how my family received or took this name. My father told me that 4 generation ago our family was Stanciu, but because some legal troubles this name was changed to Popescu.
My name Valentin is coming from Latin language and like all Christians know is the name of Saint Valentin that is the protector of love.
I don’t know if my name refers to trades or professions but of course there are a lot of names in may language that are referring to professions (i.e Croitoru - clothier, Popa – priest, Vacaru – cowboy, Varzaru – the man who cultivate cabbage).
Even if is a Latin language our language has many influences from other languages, but is very difficult for me to identify some examples:)
In my country when I meet someone for the first time I use the family name and the title to (Mrs., Mr.)
Valentin
