Drills and Chants

Drills and Chants

1.-Do you use drills and chants in your lessons? Explain why/why not.
Since right now I am working only with adults, I mainly use drills to teach pronunciation of lexis and even to teach some useful expressions. I could use chants but because my Ss are adults I consider that they may not willing to do that kind of activities.
2.-What do you like or not like about using them?
While using drills I can be sure they will get the correct pronunciation of the word and in this way I can hear and correct them immediately if they are not pronouncing correctly.

1.- I do use drills and chants; I believe it is quite useful for children to practice pronunciation; I consider it to be better than asking the Ss to pronounce words individually.

2.- What I like about dirlls is the fact that children really enjoy it; not to mention the improvement of their pronunciation after the drilling. It may take some time; however, the results for the drillings are quite noticeable.
