Doping

Should doping in sport be legalised?
In my opinion no. The fact that alcohol and tobacco are legalised does not mean we should legalise more drugs. The main aim of prohibitions is to protect the people, we should then protect our athletes like we do with our children, who can’t drink alcohol for example.
Will it ever be possible to stop athletes breaking the rules to win?
For sure not. To be able to break the rules is something character-related. I mean, there are athletes, that will never break the rules because of principles. Other ones think the objective justifies the way to achieve it. I think that is something, that we can’t change.
Are athletes who take drugs cheats or are they victims?
That’s a very good question actually. I think they are two of them. I mean, drugs ale illegal, so they are cheats since they break the rules. But they are probably victims at the same time. It is really sad that to win has become to the most important thing in sport, so that athletes are willing to do anything to do it.
