Sports, ceremonies and rituals.

Do you think the Mesoamerican ball game was really a sport, or do you think it was a religious ceremony?

I believe that it was both. They invented a game that could bring them fun and happiness, but at the same time, the punishment that the losers received it was a kind of sacrifice to the gods. As a result they could receive blessings on the abundance of their crops.

I do not think that the game was really a sport, I think that influences the type of culture in front of this sport, this is why I believe that the losing team should not be sacrificed.
I think bullfighting is a sport, but this sport must be canceled due to the aggressiveness of animals

Bullfighting is considered a sport but in my opinion it does not comply with the minimum requirements to be an sport. It is more a cultural heritage. It has more to do with the cult to the animal and the fight between the man and the beast.
To be a sport, none of the participants has to die, so for me it is an old tradition that needs to be banned. It is cruel and it means that the animal is sacrifie. Moreover, it is very dangerous for the torero
In the same way, I think that the amateur bull runs that happens during the festivities in many towns in Spain should also be banned.
The animals suffer from stress and in some villages they are also sacrifyied.
