Cricket:
It is a sport of bat and ball, in which two teams of eleven players each face. It is played on a field of grass, more or less oval (elliptical), whose extension should not be less than that of a football. In the center of the field there is a rectangular terrain which is known as the pitch.
Originated in its organized form in England, cricket is popular mainly in the countries of the Commonwealth of Nations. In the countries of the Indian Subcontinent, it is the sport of the masses.
