In my opinión, the Mesoamerican ball game was a religious ceremony. If the losing team had to be sacrificed it has nothing to do with a sport. In fact, the same happens with bullfighting, if the bull should be sacrificed, from my point of view, it is a ritual and not a sport, that´s why it should be banned.
